The new Advanced Technologies Building was designed to serve as the campus hub for HVAC and Electrical Technology programs, offering students hands-on learning opportunities in a real-world environment. Fitzemeyer & Tocci served as the MEP/FP engineer for the project, designing mechanical and electrical systems that were intentionally exposed and strategically located to function as educational tools within the space.
Laboratory spaces were thoughtfully positioned both inside and outside the building to replicate real-world scenarios and provide students with practical training experiences. These instructional environments allow learners to engage directly with the systems they are studying, reinforcing theoretical knowledge through hands-on application.
By integrating building systems into the curriculum, the Advanced Technologies Building not only supports technical education but also fosters a deeper understanding of building infrastructure, energy systems, and modern construction techniques.
