Context Architecture
"Fitzemeyer & Tocci is providing commissioning services for the new Lewiston Engine No. 5 Fire Station, an 11,000-SF, state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance firefighter health, safety, and operational readiness. This modern station replaces the outdated Main Street facility built in the 1950s, addressing long-standing needs for updated infrastructure and improved working conditions.
The new fire station incorporates best-in-class health and safety features, including the separation of living quarters from apparatus bays, positive pressure ventilation in living spaces to prevent carcinogen infiltration, and a dedicated gear storage area isolated from vehicle emissions. A full decontamination zone supports firefighter safety after responding to fires or hazardous incidents, while a modern gym promotes health and fitness.
F&T’s commissioning scope covers all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring they are installed, tested, and fully operational to meet design intent and performance requirements. By verifying system functionality, energy efficiency, and safety compliance, F&T helps deliver a facility that will serve Lewiston’s firefighters and residents for decades to come."
