Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital: Inpatient Tower Update

Updated: May 1, 2023

A new RTU was delivered to Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital last weekend. This marks the beginning of a series of new RTUs for the ongoing Inpatient Tower project. This particular 40,000 CFM unit will replace the current Radiology RTU, and is designed to accommodate both the existing Radiology suite and the new first floor and basement of the tower. Notably, the unit is equipped with a spacious service corridor, which will enable the facilities staff to perform maintenance on the unit without being exposed to the elements.

F&T, Turner Construction Company, and TG Gallagher, among others, collaborated to install the unit on the new steel dunnage. Moving forward, temporary ductwork will be connected to serve the existing Radiology suite before finally removing the older RTU.

Stay tuned for more updates!
