MS Project Manger

With 3 years of experience at F&T,  Zack Ferchak has become an integral part of our project management team, bringing a strong combination of technical expertise, client-focused leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Zack holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a master's in project management from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA, which provides him with a solid foundation for managing complex projects in the healthcare and academic sectors. 

As Project Manager, Zack oversees every phase of project development—from initial planning and design through construction and closeout—while serving as the primary point of contact for clients. His approach emphasizes building strong client relationships, ensuring that all requirements are met, and driving projects to successful completion on time and within budget. Zack’s leadership extends to coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, IT, and commissioning engineers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet stringent industry standards. 

Over the past three years, Zack has contributed to numerous high-profile projects, such as the Heart Failure Clinic renovation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Inpatient Tower addition at Brigham & Women’s Faulkner Hospital, and critical inpatient renovations at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. His work reflects a deep understanding of healthcare infrastructure and a dedication to excellence that strengthens F&T’s reputation for quality and innovation. 

Q&A

Can you share a brief overview of what you do at the company?

As a project manager at Fitzemeyer & Tocci, I run and oversee the MEP design team for healthcare, academic and science & technology renovations and new construction projects. I ensure that design deliverables are delivered on time and within budget.

What inspired you to join our team, and what has been your journey so far?

I joined the team full-time in September 2022 after completing two co-op semesters. F&T is a place where learning and growth is encouraged by everyone in the office. With the opportunity to grow, I found that F&T was the place for me. I was able to complete my Master’s while working full-time which was also something I really wanted to do.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, you can typically find me golfing or out with friends. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes in the kitchen! I also enjoy traveling to new places and one of my lifetime goals is to visit and stay overnight in all 50 states.
