Boston Public Schools
SIPIS Initiative
Boston, Massachusetts
F&T provided design and construction administration support for 60 buildings for Boston Public Schools (BPS) as part of their Systemic Improvement Plan (SIP). This particular SIP Initiative was to install new filtered water fountains and bottle filling stations, reducing not only the lead levels in drinking water throughout buildings but also reducing the school districts carbon footprint. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded BPS $6.125 million in grant funding through the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act.
