F&T's First Annual 5k!

Updated: Aug 11, 2020

F&T hosted our first annual virtual 5k last week, providing a great opportunity to get some fresh air and movement while benefiting some well-deserving organizations. For every participant in the 5k, F&T made a commitment to donate $200 per participant between two very deserving organizations - the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Boston Resiliency Fund.

60% of the funds raised went to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. This fund is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 75 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.

The the remaining funds will go to the Boston Resiliency Fund, which is helping coordinate the City's fundraising efforts to support City of Boston residents most affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19). They have provided grants to provide food and childcare supplies to families, technology to Boston Public Schools students for remote learning, find jobs for those affected by the COVID economy, provide COVID testing and telehealth services to low income communities, and so much more.

We are so grateful to be able to give to these organizations and look forward to more opportunities to give back. Thanks to all the participants for making it happen!
