Minimizing risk in the post-Covid-19 environment includes limiting the number of commonly used touchpoints. Magnetic door hold opens have been limiting the number of people touching door operators since their inception. Magnetic door hold opens are typically only installed at smoke barrier locations as they are a fire alarm device. However, there is no code limitation on which doors can receive a hold open as long as power supplies are sized appropriately to support the number of devices.
