Meet Abdullah, Principal & Academic Market Leader, 10 years with F&T

Abdullah Khaliqi, PE, MCPPO, CPQ is Principal at Fitzemeyer & Tocci with a focus on academic projects. A professional electrical engineer and certified power quality professional with over 22 years of experience, he serves as the overall supervisor of the project and is the primary contact to clients. Abdullah has been at Fitzemeyer & Tocci for 10 years and is a graduate of Penn State University.

As part of his position, Abdullah ensures that all client requirements are met by developing a strong client relationship from project inception through construction closeout. His focus is to successfully meet all project goals while satisfying the needs and requirements of the client. He has been a key contributor to numerous high-profile projects, including multiple projects at Boston College, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Q&A

What inspired you to join our team, and what has been your journey so far?

I came to F&T from a company where I was on an island as the entire Northeast Office’s Electrical Group. Working as part of a team with this group of talented individuals was the biggest draw for me.

Can you tell us about a project or accomplishment you're particularly proud of?

I really enjoyed the finished product at the Christa McAuliffe Center and Planetarium, on the Framingham State University campus. The planetarium and space shuttle simulators that students use were so fun to interact with. The center serves elementary students, FSU students, and lifelong learners – I am inherently proud of anything that encourages STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities for young students.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I keep bees, am an avid outdoorsman, volunteer on a local committee for an international conservation group and spend time with my dog.
