Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, Inc. (F&T) is proud to announce that it has received a 2026 National Recognition Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) for our mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) engineering services on the Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital Inpatient Tower Addition.
Accepted by our CEO Scott LeClair at the 2026 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala in Washington, D.C., this prestigious honor highlights the firm’s leadership in delivering sustainable, resilient, and patient-centered healthcare infrastructure. The ACEC Gala is globally regarded as the pinnacle celebration of engineering innovation, honoring projects that advance the public good through excellence in design and execution.
Completed in 2025, the Inpatient Tower Addition is a 98,000-square-foot expansion to Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Boston, MA, with an additional 15,700 square feet of targeted renovations. The facility includes 78 private inpatient rooms, an expanded radiology and MRI suite, a new endoscopy department, and an eight-bed extended recovery unit. Designed by NBBJ and constructed by Turner Construction, the project was engineered by F&T to meet the hospital’s growing needs with high-efficiency systems, operational flexibility, and enhanced patient care.
In April, the project also earned the Silver Award at the 2026 ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence Awards, further affirming its impact at both state and national levels. With a design focused on sustainability, system resiliency, and long-term value, the Inpatient Tower Addition sets a new benchmark for high-performance hospital infrastructure in an active, urban environment.
