Saint Anselm College's Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences in Manchester, NH
Fitzemeyer & Tocci provided MEP/FP engineering design and construction administration services for Grappone Hall, the new home of the Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Saint Anselm College. Officially opened with a ribbon cutting in January 2025, this $40 million, 45,000-SF facility is the largest project-based campaign in the college’s 135-year history.
Built in response to New Hampshire’s ongoing nursing shortage, Grappone Hall broadens the college’s impact by expanding undergraduate programs in nursing, community and public health, and health sciences, while also launching Saint Anselm’s first graduate program -a Master of Science in Nursing in Leadership and Innovation.
The state-of-the-art facility includes a 200-seat auditorium, a public health community space, and a 7-lab simulation learning center replicating real-world healthcare environments, including Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care, Home Health, and Mental Health. A fully simulated nursing unit includes medication, nutrition, and supply areas, while a dedicated home health suite allows for realistic training in community-based care.
Cutting-edge AI-powered simulation mannequins—both adult and pediatric—help prepare students for real-life scenarios, providing verbal responses, physical interactions, and observation capabilities for faculty through private viewing rooms. Additional collaborative learning spaces support kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology instruction, while two floors of community areas provide inviting study and gathering spaces.
