Fitzemeyer & Tocci provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services for the renovation of 21,100 square feet across two key areas of Holyoke Medical Center, supporting the expansion of the hospital’s behavioral health services.

The project included the renovation of the 1st floor of the South Building to accommodate a temporary adult behavioral health wing, and the transformation of the 3rd floor of the Memorial Building into a permanent pediatric behavioral health unit. The new pediatric unit includes patient rooms, nurse stations, staff areas, restrooms, and various support spaces tailored to meet the specialized needs of behavioral health care for children and adolescents.

The 3rd floor renovation required complete replacement and upgrade of MEP/FP infrastructure to support the wing as a permanent facility, ensuring long-term reliability, safety, and compliance with behavioral health design standards.
