Yaju Chauhan is Senior Market Leader at Fitzemeyer & Tocci with a focus on complex infrastructure, pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing, and mission-critical facilities projects. With more than 25 years of mechanical engineering experience, he brings extensive expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams and developing reliable, efficient, and sustainable building systems. Yaju joined Fitzemeyer & Tocci two months ago and holds a Master of Science in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India.

As part of his role, Yaju provides technical leadership and strategic guidance throughout all phases of project delivery, from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and long-term operational optimization. His focus is to help clients develop high-performing mechanical infrastructure that supports critical operations while improving reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. Throughout his career, he has successfully led major infrastructure upgrades, pharmaceutical manufacturing support systems, building automation initiatives, and large-scale energy and decarbonization projects while serving in senior engineering and leadership positions at organizations including Moderna, Trane Technologies, Siemens Building Technologies, and several energy-focused firms.

His expertise includes mechanical systems design, HVAC, plumbing, plant utilities engineering, building automation systems, energy efficiency strategies, renewable energy integration, cold storage facilities, and building performance optimization. Yaju has played a key role in developing engineering standards, mentoring technical professionals, and driving innovative solutions that enhance facility performance and operational resilience. A Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Building Commissioning Professional, LEED Accredited Professional, and holder of a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License, he brings a well-rounded perspective that aligns technical excellence with client success and long-term project value.

Can you share a brief overview of what you do at the company?

As a Senior Market Leader, I serve as a trusted Owner’s Advisor, helping clients solve complex design, energy efficiency, and sustainability challenges. I partner with stakeholders to enhance building infrastructure, reduce carbon footprints, and ensure facility systems operate at peak efficiency and maximum reliability.

What inspired you to join our team, and what has been your journey so far?

What inspired me to join the team was the direct opportunity to help clients transform their infrastructure through the lenses of energy efficiency and sustainability. Right now, my focus is on driving our momentum forward and helping F&T solidify its position as a dominant leader in the Life Sciences, energy efficiency, and sustainability sectors.

Can you tell us about a project or accomplishment you're particularly proud of?

I’m proudest of the moments where I can give honest, strategic advice to guide an owner through major infrastructure changes. For instance, collaborating on large-scale electrification or heat recovery projects where we can visibly maximize energy efficiency, secure significant utility rebates, and drastically cut carbon footprints is incredibly rewarding.
